When the pandemic started, I was only in my sixth year as a junior acquaintance with the corporation that hired me straight out of university.
I remember my first afternoon inside that near perfect commercial Heating & A/C. It was so comfortable even though I was wearing a suit all afternoon. Working in the downtown corporation district was a big positive as well. I entirely did pretty superb for the first 3 years of my employment. So when we got sent house from the zone controlled Heating & A/C of the office at the start of the pandemic, I wasn’t all that anxious. There had been talk that the corporation would sit off a bunch of people and the new hires would be the first to go. I sort of clogged that out as I went house to my condo to start laboring remotely. But sure enough, within the month I was given my pink slip without the occasion of rehire in the near future. I was basically split loose with no income, an condo with poor Heating & A/C and a mountain of student loan debt. My parents immediately provided their basement in their new location for me to stay. But I legitimately tried to stay in my condo with odd online gigs and even bringing in a roommate. However, the financial realities were such that I ended up taking my parents up on their offer. Their new location has a furnished basement and there’s a ductless heat pump down there as well. It legitimately is kind of like its own condo and was a superb spot for me to be able to regroup and get through the rest of the pandemic.
