This summer has definitely been a yo-yo when it comes to the weather.
- We are either cold and rainy or so hot and humid that you can’t breathe.
There doesn’t seem to be a happy medium. For this reason we were forced to purchase a second portable air conditioning unit for the downstairs. We had one for a bedroom upstairs but decided that sitting around the living room melting just wasn’t any fun so we headed to the store to buy a standing portable HVAC unit that we could put in the window. If you aren’t familiar with this type of Technology it is really great because you can still leave the screen in the window and have the air conditioning too. This works great when you have yo-yo weather because on days when it is cool you can simply remove the window bar and let the fresh air in and easily replace it when needed. There is no need to install insulate around the unit like a traditional window air conditioning would need. I am glad that we went and purchased the second unit and now I downstairs is much more comfortable while we are sitting in the evening and watching TV. I often leave it on the dehumidifier setting during the day because even removing the moisture from the air makes a huge difference. At this point I am really looking forward to fall just so that we can escape the 90 degree heat and the high humidity that we are having. If you can’t find a standing unit at your local hardware store, be sure to look online because many companies will deliver them and even offer free shipping, you will be very happy with it.
